So got up early today and attached the algae we collected off the reef crest yesterday to cages and busted on out to the fore reef to get them deployed. The conditions were a bit iffy on the surface with some decent waves and white caps but once we got down it was fine. We set up these cages with algae inside of them along with open algae to see what kind of fish would feed on it. We did this by taking some video underwater while we did the rest of our invertebrate counts during the two dives. Saw a stone fish for the first time today and was surprised at how small it was but definitely not by how camouflaged it was. Tom pointed it out to me during one of our surveys. Today Russ gave Tom and I both pastries to eat between our dives along with the customary Bastogne cookies which are delicious almost gingerbread like cookies. When we got back we had some lunch, I got to making some more cages, and then the work day was done. We had vegetable curry tonight for dinner which was good although it was not spicy. Unfortunately one of the girls in our group doesn't like sauces especially if they are spicy so they didn't get the spicy curry. After that we had a few drinks and socialized for a few hours and then went off to bed. I'm super tired so to bed for me. Until later.
