June 23rd Day 3

Today I dove Gump Reef right off the station first thing in the morning and then worked on things at the station the rest of the day. Had to fix the security camera system which was a bit tiring and challenging going through the attics and everything. Got some underwater pictures today which was exciting. After a hard day's work we went out to dinner at a local place north of the station and I got some chicken curry. It was really good but I got such a huge portion I had to get a to go container. Funny that you have to pay 50 francs to get your food put into a plastic container with saran wrap on it. Shows how much a Tahitian franc is worth. Now I'm beat tired and I'm probably going to be going to bed early tonight. I need to be at my best tomorrow because I think it will be the first day I get out to the fore reef where I will be spending the bulk of my time this summer. Tom who is the other researcher that I will be working for just got here today so Keith thinks he will need me tomorrow. I'm really excited to see something more pristine and clear than Gump Reef but I'm not complaining. Until later.
